Introduction

At Cape Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to all users, regardless of their abilities or disabilities. Standards Compliance

We strive to adhere to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA standards. Whilst primary schools are partially exempt from meeting the government accessibility requirements we are continuously working to improve our website's accessibility and user experience. Our aim is to provide a website that is usable by everyone, including those with disabilities.

Accessibility Features

  • Making text accessible: Our website allows users to adjust text size and contrast to enhance readability. This can be done using the zoom function on your internet browser.
  • Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements of our website can be accessed using a keyboard, ensuring that users who cannot use a mouse can navigate effectively.
  • Alternative Text for Images: We endeavour to provide alternative text descriptions for images that are for information (not decorative content), ensuring that users with visual impairments can understand the content.
  • Clear Structure and Headings: We use a clear structure and headings to help users navigate our content easily.
  • Accessible Forms: All forms on our website are designed to be accessible, with clear labels and instructions.
  • Search function: The ability to search the website can be accessed via the magnifying glass in the top right of the screen.
